Every year there are a few points that really stand out for me …
One of those is the changes in the weather – something many people don’t see happening. It is that time of the year when the sweaters come out and the days get shorter. The birds lose their tails and Scorpio joins us in the night sky after a summer-long absence.
It is a season of change. Everywhere you look – no matter where you are – if you know what to look for, you will sense it. A silence falls over the night and the sounds of crickets fade away. The breeze has a hint of winter on it as it creeps across your neck.
The rains are gone and the earth is drying out, the green grass turns a rich gold. The sunset is vibrant with colour, silhouetting the mighty Drakensberg as it brings a close to another day in Africa. It is a cycle that we can only admire.
A guide is there to share these remarkable experiences with you and to ensure your visit to our spectacular reserve leaves you wanting more.
